Step-by-Step Guide to a Clean House

When you employ Hearty Helper, you employ trained professionals. One of the characteristics of Hearty Helper's professional cleaning service is that we have a game plan for cleaning your property. A strategy that tackles cleaning in a careful, organized manner (with the flexibility to integrate your specific preferences).

Are you surprised that we will reveal our secrets? We enjoy cleaning and training. And we're aware that our consumers adore our service. Moreover, sharing is a virtue. Utilize our house cleaning checklist to efficiently and thoroughly clean your home:

  • Before you begin moving from room to room, halt to play some rousing music. This is superior. As you gather up the mess, feel free to question your possessions. The fewer your possessions, the less you must store, tidy, and dust: Examine the books, magazines, newspapers, furniture, outgrown children's toys, outdated computers, and clothing and shoes in the closets. Is it time to recycle and donate? Turn off light fixtures and ceiling fans before beginning the cleaning task.

  • Minimize and organize. Regarding closets, I encourage you to confront your fears and open any you have avoided. It is time to declutter and get things organized.

  • Dust. Using microfiber cloths, dust (from left to right, top to bottom) in a clockwise direction. This will reduce allergens and enhance your home's air quality. Wet fabrics attached to the extremities of mops and brooms are an effective way to remove filaments. Use the string to shut slatted blinds one way, clean them, close them the other way, and repeat. It is more effective and efficient than performing each blind individually. Remember to dust the surfaces of doors, fans, light fixtures, picture frames, and trinkets (keep them in display cases to reduce the amount of dusting required). Use glass cleaner on a cotton or microfiber fabric to prevent discoloration on framed photographs, television screens, and computer monitors.

  • Vacuum. Make sure your bag or compartment is not full, and use the correct settings and attachments to clean all the nooks and crannies and the areas that are difficult to reach. Throughout the whole home, clean the surfaces as well as the upholstery. When you peek behind the cushions of your couch and find stuff like socks, coins, loose hair, fingernails, and food, you will want to pinch yourself. "Spaghetti can be eaten most successfully if inhaled like a vacuum cleaner."

  • Sweep/mop/treat floors (excluding kitchen). Begin mopping at the room's farthest corner and work your way back toward the entrance. After completing each 4-by-4-foot area, rinse the mop.

  • Furniture freshening. Certain pieces of wooden furniture, on occasion, need a thorough waxing to maintain their finish.

Kitchen Cleaning Checklist

  • Wipe down countertops and cabinets (start at the immediate right of the stove).

  • Clean the face of appliances (refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher).

  • Wipe down the stovetop.

  • Clean the inside of the microwave.

  • Soak stove drip pans and knobs in the sink.

  • Clean inside and around the sink.

Bathroom Cleaning Checklist

  • Remove rugs/wastebaskets (if you still need to do so when vacuuming earlier).

  • Remove everything from the tub/shower.

  • Place bath mat in tub/shower.

  • Wet tub/shower walls with warm water.

  • Spray/clean everything with an all-purpose cleaner except the toilet, vanity, shower/tub, and mirror.

  • Fill a bucket with ¼ cup of all-purpose cleaner and water to prep for floor cleaning.

  • Scrub the tub/shower walls and door (if required, use a grout brush between tiles).

  • Apply a tile and grout cleaner to the tub/shower floor and scour.

Bedroom Cleaning Checklist

After organizing your wardrobes, removing the garbage from your rooms, dusting, and vacuuming the entire house, your bedroom cleaning will be complete. To finish up, simply:

  • Return any furniture (chairs, diaper containers, etc.) you previously moved to vacuum.

  • Make bed.

  • Straighten.

  • Special projects: Organize your sock drawer. Fold laundry and put it in the dresser? Put a mint on your pillow?

Window Cleaning

  • Use a glass cleaner that won't leave streaks, then wipe it off with newspaper. Take caution not to use too much of the cleaning solution.

  • Utilize a professional-grade squeegee to clean large and difficult-to-reach windows.

  • Remove window screens from their frames and scour them with an all-purpose cleanser and tepid water solution. Scrub each window screen with a fiber brush, rinse with an outdoor faucet, and reinstall after drying.
